#1928: Shibboleth

It seems hard to find a common grasp on what’s real these days. The source is arguably the struggle of outdated norms for survival in a changing nation, and they’re fighting with all the propaganda at their disposal. They’re angry shibboleths.

Here’s my set in response to the sorrow and dissonance of the last few weeks in the U.S. along with a concert update so you can get out and be with people. Hope it helps you keep your grip!

#1920: Out Of Time (Extended Tracks)

As summer heat begins creeping I thought this week could use some room to breathe, so extended tracks it is! A nod to the late Dr. John, an STP anniversary, new music from Los Mundos, Slift, and Aldous Harding, and other aural ephemera.
Stretch out, enjoy, and tell a pal.

#1917: How You Feel

The manic pace of our world can make emotions seem immediate and not worthy of question or examination. That’s an illusion, though, so let’s take a bit of time today to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Today’s show starts out mellow and builds over time. I don’t know about you, but me? I need a little space to let myself breath. Old tracks mix with new stuff from folks like Aldous Harding, The Mystery Lights, Wargirl, Grim Streaker, Pile and more. Come feel small with me, in a good way.

Tune in to a new show every Thursday from 12-1PM EST / 5-6PM GMT. Full playlist below -> Continue reading “#1917: How You Feel”

#1914: Cut It Up

Have you ever tried to just unplug from this weird social-media matrix? It can leave you a little discombobulated even though none of it’s real. This week I’m piecing myself back together in the physical world, let’s you and me get together with a great mix of old and new rock and soul.

Featuring fresh releases by The Advertisers, Alien Lizard, The Pinheads, The Resonars, Lee Fields & the Expressions and a lot more.

#1907: Midnight Siren

I’m feeling this long winter dragging on so to ease the passage into the glory of an NYC spring I’ve put together mostly mellow sounds. Dig on vintage fantasies and enjoy new gauze from Rudy De Anda, Nadine Carina, Lonesome Shack, and Frankie & the Witch Fingers.

Stay frosty, but not too frosty.

#1905: Strike 1000

Been laying down some themes lately so this week’s show is just a mix of the music that’s tickled my fancy over a particularly wintry week in Brooklyn. Dig on the usual selection of vintage rock cuts and new indie and alternative from bands like Old Mexico, Mid-Air Thief and Threatmantics. Hope you’re as fancily tickled as I was!

#1903: The Upsetter

I don’t consider myself a serious dude but my playlists often imply otherwise. This week we’ll dive into a collection that reflects my view of the state of our union. Classic psychedelia, modern punk, big riffs and golden grooves collide.

You can listen on iTunes Podcasts and Spotify as well!

Enjoy and have fun. Serious fun. Continue reading “#1903: The Upsetter”
